You know the canvas bags you get at the bank to put coins in? I find them great for washing my girths in. Tie them at the top with string or a rubber band. It stops the girth buckles banging on the drum of the washing mashine. Am I the only lazy so and so who puts them in the washing mashine????

No - putting them in the washing machine is normal. There's a company that sells bags for that very purpose.

Of course, I've only ever seen the plastic bags in the last 10 years, which probably wouldn't work! :)

This may seem obvious but I use one of my sons old P.E. bags - works a treat :)

I use a sock over the buckles held on with either a piece of cord or elastic bands.

The best thing I have discovered is an old pair of oven gloves (mitten type) fixed over the end with elastic bands. The padding really dies stop buckles doing any damage to the inside of the machine.

I put everything in the washing machine I can including boots, also have washed bits in the dish washer!

we get light fabric shopping bags over here as an alternative to buying plastic shopping bags so i put my girth in one of those and tie the handles in a knot.

I just use an old pillowcase tied with an elastic band. I also put my headcollars and lead ropes in every now and again!

yeah me too - a pillow case is what I have always used for girths and headcollars, although sometimes I am lazy and don't bother!

I put a sock over the buckles and then put one of the bags you get with washing machine tablets over that, pull the cord tight and voila, it stays put.

Why do they give you a new bag thingy with every box of tablets you buy? Seems such a waste.
