when i left school i went to college to do my BHS levels. When we had the first lesson of disabled children come in for there weekly lesson i was unsure of what to expect. but i had so much fun with the children and learnt that there are many ways to communicate with people. and the children appriciated it so much and for many it was the ony time they smiled. im hoping to start going bk to the college to help out with the lessons :)

when i worked at the RS, we had a group come down from a special needs school... they ranged from having mild to severed learning difficulties, to downs syndrome... theis particualr lass, had downs, and she couldnt be nicer..always felt for her...she had her own pony, but because he lived and worked at the local RDA, she was only allowed to ride him once a week.... (he worked mon-fri, and had either sat or sun for a day off, which left her just one day to ride..) so she started coming to us... what a rider...she used to ride one of the more forward going ponies, she would trot from front to rear of the ride, putting in nicely rounded 20m circles, and also cantering.... she was really good... the rest of the ride were good too. Only difference is these were adults, not children.
