Hi Everyone,
I am 22 and have just started riding. At the mo I have only been hacking, but am looking to start lessons etc. Looking for someone/group who are at similar level, ie v.novice, but love it and would like to join me as none of my friends/ family are keen to come along.
I haven't got my own horse yet, but one day would love to share.
Please give me your thoughts on best way to learn....and meet people in same situation!
Thanks everyone!

Hi and welcome!

Your best bet is to start lessons as well as hacking and look for a possible share. That way you'll find other local peeps to ride with.

Good luck!:D

In an ideal world all our friends and family would want to ride and obsess about horses with us - in (my) reality they quickly become masters of the I'm listening to you look when really they're thinking not again!

This website is great, you can obsess and share as much as you need.

You'll meet other people when you hack out / have lessons especially if you have one at the same time each week. Nearly everyone I've met at my RS is happy to chat about their experiences, favourite horse and so on. (It just took a little bit of bravery to start with:)).

How many hacks have you been on? Have you found somewhere good to have lessons? Look forward to hearing about your progress.

PM me with where you are in Taunton etc and I might be able to point you in the right direction, I know Sancho who I believe has already PM'd you. There are a few of us around the Taunton area on here.
