I've decided both tara and I are fit enough to now do some long distance rides (we went out for 3 and half hours today and niether of us broke out a sweat :p)

Anyway, I've been looking on line to find some rides in essex or suffolk and have come to a dead end, I cant seem to find ANY information or contact numbers at all

So, does anyone know who I need to contact and where I start?

Also, do you have to have a horse who isnt fazed by anything, as tara is still a little spooky at times and I'm not sure how she would take to being overtaken by a group of galloping horses

Get onto the Endurance GB webpage, they will list all their rides on there. Contact your area rep or local team/club, they should be able to help you out a bit, advise on which ride might be best for a first try etc or might have someone who would volunteer to mentor you through your build up and first ride :D My friend competes at advanced/international level and sometimes does that :p I crew for her a bit and a nice ride are the ones held at North Stow, its in thetford forest and mostly off road and they are very well run there. Doing a pleasure ride might be a good place to start, it gives you a flavor of endurance without the competative bit, also these are also shorter distances and on a different route to the races so you don't get horses whizzing past you, hopefully :p
If you are doing one in suffolk and want some moral support or crew help give me a shout, I always enjoy going along to the rides :D
ETA, we can chat a bit more saturday hopefully :D I can try and ge some contact details off my friend if you want.
