I want to buy a winter blanket for my new horse now while I can still find one on sale. I saw the one I want for $60 off!!!
I like the Weatherbeeta TAKA blankets but they only come in 3 inch increments.
I measured him and he seems to be just a little over 81 inches. Should I get the 81 inch blanket (since it's closest to his actual size)or the 84 inch blanket? At his previous home he wore an 82, but the TAKA blankets don't come in 82...

i would get the larger size. the heavy rugs tend to need more room left due to there thickness. i would rather have a rug that was ever so slightly too big than too small! if its a lightweight rug than you may get away with the smaller size or if its for indoors. have fun deciding what one you want!

Hiya
Ive always found with the Weatherbeta range you need to go up a size, or to the nearest larger increment.
Did that make any sense ??

Another thing you need to bear in mind is that a rug that fits exactly when the horse is standing square will pull forward and end up short when he's got his head down to graze - which is quite a lot of the time. I like a tiny bit of overhang in an outdoor rug.

Tucks can always be put in around the neck and hindquarters if you find that the rug is a little big. The tucks will improve the fit of the rug without making it look ghastly.
