Checked Flaires feet last night & her hooves seem really hot. She lost her front shoe last week & has now lost the one at the back (same side as the front one) farrier is not coming until Monday.

Does anyone know if the hot feet & her losing shoes are linked?? She was only shod about 2 weeks ago.

What does it mean if she has hot feet?? She is limping about but always does when she loses a shoe.

:confused:Help!!

Have you checked her pulses?

If her feet are unnaturally hot I'd be thinking more about LGL/laminitis especially if she's footsore too.

Barefoot horses do tend to have warmer feet but they're not hot.

They're almost certainly linked, there's likely to be a bit of inflammation as the insides are suddenly being asked to do things they haven't had to do before and probably can't cope with. Not the end of the world but I'd personally be doing my best to keep the horse as comfortable as possible and avoid any difficult surfaces.
