View Full Version : Sharing frustrations!

Just wanted to have a whinge, really. I've been looking for a pony to share for months, and am having no joy :(

I've been placing ads here, there and everywhere, plus searching the internet and local papers but to no avail. Whenever there are any available that are local enough, they are always too big, way too small (like 10hh small) or beyond my capabilities. A couple of times I've had people get in touch about their ponies, and they sounded fab (I even went to try one), but then they've just never got back to me.

Does anyone have any tips for me, or just wants to listen to me complain?! I miss riding regularly!

It can be frustrating but something will turn up trust, I had to wait 2-years to find the perfect horse and agreement and was devastated when it ended after 9-months but was luckily enough to find another relatively quickly.

The best thing I can do is maybe but ad's up in local livery yards, ask your riding instructor if they know of anyone, ask friends who may have horses if they know of anyone. Advertise in your local tack shop, use every contact you have, I found the best is word of mouth as that way your more suitable matched.

Good luck in your search :)

Where do you live, I need someone to share my boy with me. Usually it is children or teenagers that are looking for a share when you own a pony but I need someone older and wiser

I'm in Barnsley. You'd think it'd be easy cause there seem to be more ponies than people around here!

I am in Leicestershire so too far which is a shame. Around here everyone has their own horse or pony which makes finding a rider very difficult.
