transition from hay to grass...

My horse has always been turned out and eating grass, but for the past 2 weeks he has been indoors at a stable and eating hay. He will be coming home soon and I am wondering if it is safe for him to go from hay back to green grass all at once. Does he need a gradual transition from hay to grass after only 2 weeks? I am worried about him foundering. Any opinions?

i would do it slightly more gradual, if it's not very fresh and well grazed it's not too bad, basicually i would turn him out for about 6 hours, a day or over night and bring him in and feed him hay at the other times, for about a week!!

you properly wouldn't have a problem but it's better to be safe than sorry!!
you may find he has sloppy poo for a while!!!
