my own critique would be thati am getting way ahead of her and not holding her together before the jump..

Lovely horse! No critiique from me - and I can't even laugh at your sound effects - I'm just as bad! In fact I have been known to close my eyes before jumping!

Well done! :)

That's ok...I've been known to yell obscenities when I screw up...and I didn't see you screw up. I wouldn't say that you're not holding her together, the first distance was a little long (but not long enough to add an extra stride)

At least your toes don`t come out at a 45 degree angle to the horses sides (curtesy of a certain video).

You are not that dissimilar to me - we both get ahead on take off, but over the actual jump are pretty much fine! Shes a quality looking mare, great jump in her.

thanks!! practising on not giving as much with my hands on takeoff with any other horse that contact drop would invite a refusal

she is a sweetie. she jumps well over a metre too-just not with me!! she is an ex hunter. irish sport horse irish draught cross

Your hand/arm position over then first jump was brilliant actually, did you look at stills from it? but you did just drop her on takeoff - very good to watch though, YO occasionally tells me I dropped her at the fence, I'm always baffled, what? I didn't drop my hands!?! I figure I must do something like that too!

I really like her, my type of mare.

its amazing how quickly habits change. when i was back at riding school there was a big orange gelding that would dump you right off if you so much as tried to drop the contact before a pole never mind the fence. i got good at not doing that quickly!

Great vid !!
I think alot of people do the arm thing...I know years ago i had a lesson in claregalway and they called me dustin, as in dustin the turkey, cus i flaped my arms !!!!
Think it was my way of ''driving'' on the horse, I had to take the jump thinking, arms in arms in !!!:p
