shetland x exmoor, how much can it carry?

My daughter rides a Dartmoor and she is 13hh. Reckon she could carry 11 stone without blinking.

i sat my boyfriend on gary (shetland x highland) who is 12hh, and my boyfriend was 6 foot and 12 stone :eek: he had to squeeeeeze himself into the 12inch kiddie saddle tho, but gary troted away with him showing no problems at all, it was funny heehee:D

Are you going to ride him? That's brave - in general I have the greatest respect for Shetlands & Exmoors are only slightly less opinionated! I bet he looks cute though :D

oh thats ok then. thank you! he is sweet and fun to ride as well, their trot is so funny its too quick for me to rise to it i have to sit to it! Its just weird because I have never ridden a pony that small since I was a child

if he is indeed a shetland x exmoor (exmoor crosses are actually quite rare since there is under 1500 exmoors in the world and the breed society does not encourage crossing them!) he should be able to carry 12st at least! mind you, a shetland x any sturdy native is probably capable of that, too!! he looks chunky :)

so now, when can i come and steal him? angel says she's bored with her geriatric arab boyfriend and quite likes the look of that one :D

I'm it was exmoor, dont ask why but I do get them confused with new forests :rolleyes: I forget stuff sometimes!

I see you're in London, perhaps we will hack up there, he would have a six pack by the time we get there!

hes almost certainly not an exmoor (not a purebred one!). cuold be a dartmoor cross or heinz 57. he IS adorable though!!!

aww he's lovely, my mare is a shetland x new forest and is 12hh. She is too strong for a kid but does me perfectly I'm around 8 stone and she carries me easily.
