I finally got around to picking up this month's Practical Horseman. I made sure to read your article first! I was very impressed by the article. I found it very inspiring as I am both a pony owner and a nervous rider.
I remember when I bought Dolly; I shocked everyone in the barn. The people in the barn thought the only reason someone my age would buy a pony would be to buy a young inexperienced pony and resell it. Dolly is not that horse. She is 11 years old and a packer (okay... well, some of the time)
I tried to scan it, but I think it the words might be too small to read. Can anyone actually read it?

:D Thanks for posting that Dreamchaser.
Very good article, and extremely good and mature writing walter, everything you said made sense, and I hope that it shows other people in America that they can ride ponies. There seems to be this idea over there that ponies are just for small children, I suppose it's because you don't have the amount of native ponies that we do, which were bred to carry adults. I often see photos of 10/11yr olds on big 16hh TB's when they really should be riding a small fat hairy pony!
