Is it picture 1 or Picture 2 - it would be for a part bred Arab and Show hunter class on a grey 14.2h mare. I'm thinking of going for green in whichever jackets I choose.

i prefer the jackets in picture 2 :) they look that wee bit longer in the body and more elegant!

That's what's throwing me, I prefer the jacket in pic 2 but the colouring of the green one in pic 1 :( oh the decision  I'll have to try and find a shop that stocks them both so I can see them in the flesh cos I suppose they'll look completely different in real life

First jackets appear to be what are known as Bum Freezers. Could just be that they couldn't find a jacket long enough for the models, but depending on your class, figure and age, you probably don't want one that short. Ideally for most classes, the jacket should just touch the horses back when flicked over the cantel of the saddle.

I would go for the one on the left in picture two. Who makes them? You may be able to find a nicer jacket for the same price elsewhere.

They are made be Shires one is Picture 1 is the Malvern retailing at £59.90 and Picture 2 is the huntingdon retailing at £79.90 (although found it on ebay for £59.99).

It will be my first show since I was teenager so not sure if it;s going to be for me so don't want to spend a fortune on a jacket and find I hate the whole experience!

I bought the second shires one - i actually got it in the green check and love it. It seemed better quality compared to the first shires ones

I got mine from barnstormers for £67.99 - but viewed it in a store first and tried it on then went online to find it

I wore it for the first time on sunday and loved it - just i seem to have got fatter since buying it :o

Thanks Nookster, you've been a really good help in helping with my decision and having just won £500.00 on a radio competition yesterday I'm feeling really flush and can't wait to get spending :)

Thanks, I know I can't get over how lucky I am cos I never normally listen to that station or enter competitions so was so excited by the time I got to the yard (I entered whilst driving to it, although was hands free and pulled over) and bounced all round the yard for about half an hour, completely annoying everyone :) In hindsight no wonder my horse was a little more anxious than normal I probably had an electric bum I was so excited :D
