angel reminded me today that she can very easily turn/spin round even on the narrowest of tracks :o went down a path we hadnt been down on our own since last summer (went down there with a friend in the week though, so it really isnt all that novel!!). it quite overgrown and narrow and has a drop on one side (with hedges etc so you cant really see the drop, wonder if pony knows its there!).

angel decided she couldnt be bothered clambering down the track, next thing i know she'd managed to spin round (the track is only a tiny bit wider than her!) and we're facing the wrong way (ie homewards!).

im sure if a big horse had attempted this manoevre, it'd be down the ditch

(i managed to turn her back round though, she got errr a slap on her bottom when she tried it again and on our merry way we went ...)

Heehee, cheeky Angel! She's been suppling herself up by jumping out of her fields and doing the limbo ;)

That must have been a scary moment  just as well she's sure footed!
I can remember riding honey along a track that a tractor had used, then the mud gone hard. It created a sort of narrow peak and she decided to walk along it. I just froze and waited for her to sort herself out.
I think these exmoors like to keep us on our toes!!!

Frayne may be big and fat at the moment, but she can still turn in a very small space. I have a narrow 'alleyway' between my tackroom and one of the cattle sheds, which I lead her down out to the field. I often stop there to close the yardgate behind us, and sometimes Frayne will turn round to face me rather than just wait patiently for me to catch her up. She can only just get round, but always manages it :D
