It's not really a 'mature' rider returning, but it's been one whole year since I had to sell my horse and I haven't ridden since then (excluding a trek on holiday. :)) I haven't ridden properly anyway. But tomorrow is my first lesson in over a year and I'm quite excited =) Unfortunately I can't seem to find my riding boots. Oh well. :) I just thought I'd share that with you.

Wow, how thrilling for you to be getting back in the saddle! I was really excited today for my first lesson for 5 weeks - you must be ecstatic tonight! Hope you'll let us know how it goes :)

Oops forgot about this thread for a second then..
It went great, I wasn't as rusty as the instructor was expecting apparently however I did get out of breath really quickly! I must have taken for granted how fit I was before when I rode every day because I never would have got out of breath cantering a lazy pony lol! I even popped a few jumps which was nice, I haven't jumped in so long it just was rather strange.
I'm looking forward to my next lesson though! Hopefully will be able to go again next week!
