From the end of August I'm going to be sharing a horse three days a week.:D
She's a 7yr old 14.3 HW bright bay cob who is gorgeous. She has a very long dark black mane, feathery feet and a white blaze. (did I mention how pretty she is?:D) She is a great hack (as long as she isn't first) and although her school work isn't brilliant I'm sure we can work on that. I feel safe and in control when I've ridden her.
I wasn't really looking for a share but this one cropped up and after lots of weighing up I decided that this was a positive thing. I am a novice and hope that the time I've spent with Rarah and the horse owners course will give me a foundation to build on. Her owner is aware of how new I am to all this and is really supportive - she felt that I had the right attitude and that I rode her horse nicely and that was sometimes more important than experience.
My plan is to hack out with her 2/3 times a week and have a lesson on her a 1-2 times a fortnight. Her owner also drives her (?is that the right phrase) and has offered to teach me this although for the time being we'll be concentrating on the basic how to's.
I'm really excited (and a little scared by it all). I hope that I'll be able to have a good relationship with this horse and that we can grow together. Roll on the end of August :)
