Apparently my mare has a slightly shunted heel on one hind foot. Please explain what it is!

I'm going to take a guess at the fact that her heel may be underrun, so the angle isn't upright enough, and the toe is too long. On my horse, see the angle on the heel? It should I think be more like the angle on the short pastern (ie more upright), but it's actually much shallower.

I have a barefoot trimmer now, who says he'll eventually be able to remedy it. My farrier used to just say that he couldn't take the toe any shorter, end of story:rolleyes: So it kept getting worse.

Does this look anything like yours?

Hmm - excuse stinky feet, didn't have time to brush and photograph!
