I haven't posted in this bit for a while but after being the oldest rider competing on sunday I'm feeling slightly more mature than usual. :o The kids riding were all 14 and under although some of their parents did do the clear round which was good for a laugh (poor Deb fell off again...she does this everytime she tries the clear round in a show...very funny stuff)
We had a show at the farm on sunday and had a photographer there which was great. I have no idea how they get such lovely photos...my photographer (friend's boyfriend) didn't do quite so well but then again I doubt that my camera is quite as flash and expensive as the photographers!
Anyway I've promised you photos so photos you will have. Please excuse my rubbish camera...I'll put the ones I bought on too to make up for it.
Firstly we had a little warm up in the outdoor arena, "Wheeeeeeeeee!!" says Twig

and then straight onto the clear round. As you can see it was warm enough as I'm still in my t-shirt but the clouds were starting to look a bit threatening
Off over the first (bum shot!!)

Then just as we were warming up for the triers the heavens opened. I'd literally just popped over a practice fence and it just bucketed down. We all ran for stables with horses in tow and some of us headed for the indoor still sat on ponies. We must have stood in the indoor for half an hour while the rain came down and it was really bad...thunder, lightning, the lot.
Eventually it stopped and we were told that jumping would start again in another half hour if the ground had dried up enough. It was very slippy but still quite jumpable. I wasn't taking any risks and cantered very slowly around the course. Luckily Twig understood what I was asking and he did really well.
We slipped on the way into the double of planks though and I went flying up his neck. The photographer got a lovely series of pics of this moment but Twig saved me and I sat up and jumped the second part lovely :p I think the photographer was waiting for me to fall...yah boo sucks to him!!
No photos of that round as my personal photographer was having lunch, but we had the planks down where we skidded into them so we weren't placed. My friend on her youngster came 2nd!! So proud of her.
It then started raining quite a bit again but as I'd already put my name down for the novice and Twig is so sure footed I decided to give it a go. In the end only 3 of us jumped and I was the last due to the rain. We had 2 down but he really tried his heart out even though he was obviously hating the weather.
