I'm just curious. What is everyone's favorite type of jump? Mine would have to be a swedish oxer, but my horse loves any oxer. My least favorite jump is probably a big, airy vertical, the kind with just a plain rail on top. They look so much bigger than a solid fence. I swear a plain 3'6" vertical looks a foot bigger.

I like big inviting-looking spreads! The kind of step-up ones. I've been building these for Brad's horse, and she jumps them really nicely.
I get 10 tyres and place them so that you have them going up one two three with poles on top. Hard to explain but really good fun to jump. :D

I really like jumping "walls." (collapsible of course) They are really neat looking and make me feel like I'm flying, however, they are not as inviting to a horse. My main riding horse, Jazz, really likes oxers and flower boxes, I don't know why but he seems to do the best when jumping those styles. But if I had my way all the time, I would jump wall after wall after wall! :D

depends what horse i'm on... if i am riding candy than any type of spread because she loves higher/wider jumps and is awsome over them and i really feel like i'm flying!
back when my horse jumped verticals were the best because he didn't do spreads at all really...but he had the cuttest jump with his legs tucked up and his ears pointed foward and he made it feel 'fun' hehe ... i also jumped a water jump once on Roofus! it was the funnest! my horse would probly either try to runout or take a HUGE jump over water lol so it wouldn't be to fun

My favourite height of jump is 2ft 6. I don't mind uprights being higher but i hate big oxers or parallels.
I suppose that I could say my favourite jumps are XC fences, any as long as they aren't massive. I have such a stubborn slow pony and he only goes fast on XC so I have more confidence over the fences. He is one of those ponies who makes jumping hard for himself as he wont canter into them. (unless XC)

Mine is jumping full wire, when out hunting and in the show hunter ring. It is a real buzz, as it is such a scary concept to adjust to. It is quite safe if approached correctly. I also love corners on cross country as these also need a really accurate approach, but once you are over, you get such a rush!!
My Ellie, do you have any pics of your horse I would love to see them

I have tons of pictures, but I don't have a scanner to post any of them. Well, I do have a scanner, but it hasn't worked in a while. :( When I get back to school in August, I will be able to scan them and post some on here.

I luv basically all types of jumps, but I've not gone very far in jumping different types. I've jumped crossbars, verticals, walls, flowerboxes, 'wood stacks', small oxers, and bounce fences. I really want to try liverpools, but I am not advanced enough. Right now, I'd say my favorite jumps are the oxers and bounce jumps.

i don't jump (well not intentionally anyway:p ) but when watching showjumping events, i'm most impressed with triple jumps (not sure if that is the correct term, tho:D )...

a bounce jump are 2 or more jumps without even a stride inbetween. What a horse does is jumps the first fence, lands, jumps the second, lands, and so on. It is called a bounce fence because of the no strides.

i forgot all about bounces lol! roofus (horse i ride at camp) does awsome on them! herbi isn't the best so i hate doing it on him hehe. but we do gymnastics with two stirdes one stride bounce one stride two stride... sometimes we have to drop our stirrups and knot the reings and hold our arms out and look at my instructer and she puts up numbers with her fingers and we have to watch her and say what she has... or sometimes we do simon says with our arms like pat our head. one arm behind our back. its fun! :)
