Due to pregnancy and looking after a young baby I haven't ridden for 14 months. However, a good friend has asked me help exercise her lovely cob so tomorrow I am going riding! I am so excited but abit nervous at the same time. My son is now 6 months old and I have hardly left him at all, but this is such a wonderful opportunity and I think that it is time for me to start living abit again and leaving him with daddy (although as I write this I know I am going to find it hard to go out without him).

This horse is so lovely, he is about 15hh, forward going but safe with perfect ground manners and a positive attitude. He has been putting on a bit of extra weight so his owner simply needs him to do a little extra work. I am totally useless at hacking so am just planning to school and perhaps do abit of jumping (which he is very good at). Hopefully I will be able to get there a couple of times a week. It will be so good to get down the yard, see my old friends and start to feel like the old me again.

Good luck - Hope you manage to relax and have some fun.

(Leaving your baby will get easier each time you do it - my youngest is 19 months now and I really really enjoy my me time).

Thank you everyone. My legs will be killing me tonight! I also hope that I fit into my jods and boots. I have managed to shift over 3 stone since I gave birth, but am still a stone heavier than I was before. I wish that riding gear was a little more flattering!

My sister had a baby at the beginning of May and I have persuaded her to return to riding. She is loving it and, whilst Logan isn't ever far from her thoughts, really enjoys the opportunity to have some 'me' time.
Enjoy your riding (and your baby). They are both truly special.
