Well, the Joe myster has done it again:rolleyes: Farrier came out Sat am and shod him (he'd pulled two shoes the day before so it was good timing for once) WEll, went home Sat pm and he came in slightly lame but with a really warm slightly swollen back leg. The hoof felt a little warm but not really, it was the lower leg. Rang vet - was wondering whether to get them out but they said not, they said to put ice pack on and keep him moving - so did that and turned him out again. Swelling has gone down and the warmth has gone down too - just wondering - should I keep putting the Armadilo ice pack on twice a day? How long do you think I should leave it before getting vet out? He's due Fri am anyway - but I'm a bit worried about leaving it that long. Any thoughts? Could it be something terribly serious or just the result of hoolying around?

Any ideas folks? Vet is now coming sooner - but I'm just wondering if there is anything else I ought / ought not to do with it?

Nobody got any advice then?????! Oh well, vets coming out in about an hour, three of his legs are badly swollen now and a warm hoof - doesn't bode well. I didn't fancy leaving it any longer - I don't know what it will be - its very strange that they are so swollen.

I'm sorry, I've only just noticed this thread, and don't really have any advice but deifnitely think you've done the right thing getting the vet out.
Let me know how it goes, I'm worried!!
Get better Joe <33

Thanks - he's comfortable at the mo, its very low grade thankfully. He's just not too impressed about the tiny nets he's getting at night and the restricted grazing!! He's such a good natured lad - never a moments grumble whatever jabs and potions you give him.....His ears are never normally back, but last night and today they were when he saw how little feed his was going to get. Still, vets orders - its for his own good.
