Hi
I'm just a little confused here....I know most of the northern hemisphere measures their jumps in feet. Does anyone know how to convert this to metric? I am confused when people say that they are jumping 2'6" etc.how high is this in metres? centimetres?
I'm currently jumping 85cm to 1 metre.......how does this equate to feet and inches?
Any help appreciated!!

Roughly, 4" = 10cms, so 2'6" = 75cms. 1m = 3'3" or thereabouts.

Most of the northern hemisphere measures their jumps in feet? :rolleyes: Umm.. I would say most uses the metric system. "Feet" height comes from British and American only.
Anyway I keep for me the converting easy for approximate heights: 1 foot is approx. 30 centimetres. So 2 feet = 60 cm, 3 feet = 90 cm, 4 feet = 120 cm. And anything that comes in inches is somehow in between :). Like 2'6" is closer to 3 feet so approx. 80 cm. This isn't very precise, but works for the quick check.

Its easy to lirn! B.S.J.A 2002 rule book is ..
75 cm = 2'5"
80 cm = 2'7"
85cm = 2'9"
95 = 3'1"
1.00 = 3'3"
1.05 = 3'5"
1.10 = 3'7" etc
It just goes up in 5
