I think there is an arrangement of flexible strips rather than a tree, but I can't remember the precise details. Sarah Dent helped design it for use with remedial horses, why not get in touch with her and ask her about it? found this. I've just emailed sarah with a few questions on the construction of the saddle so shall post when she replies :) must say there is a LARGE price discrepency. Direct from sarah and including P&P the saddle is £360. The first link advertises the saddle at £549.99!

Great idea, especially the flat seat for leaning over. Have had painful tum on several occasions from saddle when leaning over and horse jogs off....

Not sure about the handle though in case naughty horse bucks and flings when leaning over / riding, unless its soft it might cause a few injuries!
