Well it was time to remove the dressing and stent yesterday.
The stent was sutured into position after the op to absorbe any oozing and to protect the wound in the first few days.

Armed with a few supplies and a mounting block turned into a dressing trolley we set to work.

The dressing was a bit manky.

Removing the overdressing and cutting the sutures to the stent.

I then irrigated it with saline

Dried off with a spray of Betadine.

The patient got a kiss and his dinner afterwards.
The wound looks fabulous - I am really pleased with it.
Fingers crossed he doesn't roll and get it covered in mud. Stitches booked to be removed on monday 3rd Sept.
