First Event!!

Well There is a meeting approx 4 miles from my yard for a Ride and drive ( 9 miles round quiet lanes/off road sections etc at a lesuirely pace)

I have decided to take KAI !!! He has never been to an event so I am going to play it by ear as to what I do... We might not even harness up!!! shall have to see... However I am very excited and nervous!!! I hoping all the hard work will come together!!!

First events are always scarey, but exciting times for both horse and driver... and as long as you remember to take some rescue remedy to chill you out, I am sure that Kai will be more chill at the event too! ;)

If it's run by driving folk they should have a H&S person, who will have made sure you'll have plenty of room.

I was nervous about taking one of mine to his first event, was speaking to the organiser and he laughed and said, don't worry there are plenty of escape routes! .......and there were, the ruddy ponies escaped 3 times! :o all weekend the cry went up "LOOSE HORSE" and either all or one or two of ours went sniggering across the show field!

The actual driving went well! :D :D

At his old yard there were 90 horses... so hopefully he wont be to startled by a mass herd.. I guess its all the atmosphere they pick up up. Hopefully he will be good!! Just had farrier to refit his shoe he kindly threw.. god knows how! Given him a nice bath this afternoon while the weather was nice
