Well...
Got Jakes 1st muzzle in May and that lasted untill july, it was an aeroborn one, and it broke, because the whole of the bottom came off.
Then we got a purple shires one, had it for a week, and that broke, the same happened.
Now on friday we got another black shires i think and on monday it was broken.
Do you think my pony is breaking them, or do you think it's just bad muzzles?
We aren't buying any more and he's just coming in for a while, but this is no good because he isn't getting enough excersize!

It sounds like your pony is breaking them. The greenguard ones are supposed to be tough, expensive but you could try one...

I find that if you get the bucket bit of the muzzle seperately and atatch it to your own headcollar they are more easily replaceable and tend to be more sturdy. The headcollar part will be more adjustable and I have mine paded out with sheepskin noseband covers to help stop rubbing. Hope this helps!

Anything realy baler twine would do the job. I bought my muzzle of ebay and it was designed so you could atatch it to your own headcollar, think its a best friends one. It has bee paded out with sheepskin noseband covers and fits like a dream.

Think I might try that too - my horse discovered yesterday that if you use the water trough to help, it's possible to undo the velcro on Shires muzzles and get the whole thing off. Grrr!

Clever pony!!
I don't think that attatching the bucket end to a head coller would work with my pony, he would break it somehow.
The bottom rubber part came off his shires one, and on the airborn the whole bucket came off.

Get some superglue, stick it back together, good as new! Nothingto rub the pony!
Muzzles are designed to rip if they get caught up on something. Might be worth having a look round the field incase the pony has found a branch which doubles up as a handy de-muzzling tool!

Forgot to say... if you attatch a muzzle to a headcollar, the headcollar must be a field safe one which will break before the pony breaks its neck. Muzzled ponies DO scrub on things to try and get rid f the headcollar. The Velro, quick releasers and breakable rubber are there for a reason.
When my pony breaks a muzzle I don't thing 'darn'... I think 'phew, thank god that broke'
