Well...

Everyone HAS to read this!!!

I've got some VERY exiting news!!:D (pics to come but read this first!!)

Today, we went down to the paddock armed with tack so that I could have a ride on my horse Kenny in my new saddle!!!:D

Well...

Not only did I get on, but I convinced my brother and my mother to get on too!!!:D

The owners of the property had visitors and mum will never get on a horse UNLESS it is only me there. No-one else can be there because she is very nervous.. BUT SHE DID IT!! There were people there for their family gathering (the owners of the property had a get together) and mum got on WHILE one of the people were standing at the fenceline watching her... and teasing her about her riding...:rolleyes:

Mum can walk by herself but when she trots, it is on the lead.

She has trotted ONCE off the lead, and it really wasn't for that long... Just about three strides along the fenceline... and she had a handle on the saddle to hold onto... I think she did that about three times..so with stopping and starting, altogether about 9 strides..

AND... WITH PEOPLE WATCHING, SHE TROTTED! All by herself, with steering(and no bar) in my new saddle!!!:D She did hold onto the saddle cloth, but I used to do that too and it wasn't that much help really, so I'm REALLY proud of her!!

Kenny behaved the best and we were so happy!!!:D

My little brother Luke got on as well... He can trot on the leadrein but not without a bar on the saddle and he doesnt steer... He just got a horse for lead line out at pony club... But she is not ready yet as she is a wee bit too skinny... so Luke learns on Kenny, well He trotted on the lead steering and also... sitting and pulling the reins slowly to stop trotting!!!

So today was THE BEST!!!!

Now everyone! *holds back a cheeky grin* My mum is going to hop on here later and read this section! So we all have to comment !!!
BTW my mum is "HorseyMum#1" so look out!!! lol

BTW NoviceNic - Don't you comment, last time you commented on my mums riding, you said that the saddle didn't fit her bum!!!:D *only kidding, you can comment* LOL

It was great fun!! and a long time coming!!!:)

I havn't even sat on a horse for 6 months so it was a great start!!! 6 months ago I was just barely trotting on a lead!!! Kenny was sooooooooooooo good, BIG hugs for Kenny!!

I just felt brave today!!:D:eek::p

I havn't stopped smiling since, can't wait until next weekend!!!

My mum is scared of horses! She'll hold my pony if she has too, but he's only 13.1hh and is very docile! If she was a bit lighter she'd be able to have a shot on him but I darn't ask her how heavy she is!! (plus she'd probably say no anyway! lol!)
