Thanks for your reply, i have seen the bow balance ones, do you think they are worth buying instead of the original version? i have only ridden in the originals
Thank you :)

Hi I have a pair of stirrups of the same concept of sprenger but a loy cheaper (£25) They are obviously a cheap copy but they are excellent and I've had no probs with them and they look just as smart. you can get them in most tack shops, or places like ride away.

I tried a copy and found the stirrups extremely heavy, the bow balance ones are not, just worth taking into consideration.
I adore my bow balance stirrups :)

i love my bow balance.
I suffer from a really bad knee and i have always previously been in a lot of pain after lessons but i have been having lessons and using the bow balance an no pain at all.
but i have never ridden in the other ones. I likes the idea of the bow balance for safety too as they sit differently and you can find the stirrup easily if your foot slips.

I smashed up my knee a few years back & have been experimenting with stirrups ever since I got back in the saddle! I've had 2 pairs of the cheaper bendy stirrups, one pair sort of 'crunched' and felt a bit strange, the rubber that covers the bendy bit on the other pair perished & spilt after about a year & they looked a bit tatty. I had a rush of blood to the head a few months back & bought 2 pairs of Sprenger bendies - one pair with the offset eye for flat work, and a pair of Bow Balance. They are both lovely, much nicer to ride in than the cheap ones - they seem to flex more & the flexion is smoother - & now I wish hadn't fannied about buying the cheap ones tbh!

I think Flexi-irons are similar, if you google them you should be able to find those for about £20 delivered. I have heard very good things of them but havent used them myself.

Try 'annadresseur' on ebay. She does authentic Sprenger stuff and is usually quite a bit cheaper than the regular UK prices.
