Hiaa.. i have a cob with next to no withers and
a very dipped back. I ride her with a standard
numnah and she seems to hollow her back a bit.
I was wondering if a thicker pad would help..
Any advice would be lovley..

Never mind the pad, what about the saddle?
Have you had it checked lately?
A thicker pad or cloth under a saddle can drastically alter the fit and make it pinch, making matters worse.

I had the saddle checked recently and he said it was fine.
Maybe i just need to build up her back muscles more.
She dosen't have very good self carrige and normaly leans on the reins.
Thanks for the advice.
:)
Also she is very on the forehand.

If the saddle is announced to fit (which I would be inclined to disbeleive if she seems uncomfy) then putting a thick pad under it will only make it too narrow.

Persoally I would get another saddler out (a good one who's recomended) to re-check the fit and advise you. I would also think about getting someone like a physio out to have a check.

After that it will be down to good schooling to chance her way of going.

Being on the forehand usually over develops the Trapezius making saddle fitting difficult in itself and from what you describe, sounds as though good schooling wouldn't go amiss to build up the top line ,drop the trapezius back down if it's enlarged and encourage the horse to bring it's hocks up underneath it to balance it up a bit.
I back up Pink Lady's statement of inclining to believe that the saddle doesn't fit properly and get yourself a second saddler to check it out.
Hope this helps, Oz :)
