Stirrup irons?

Are there any stirup irons which actually reduce pressure and stress on the ankles and feet? if theres any out there which arent too expensive? Ive looked into flexi irons, but do these help at all?

I had flexi irons and found they didn't do alot.
Ive found stirrups with a wide tread help.

Hi, I am unsure if I have the name right but a friend works in a saddlery shop and said that the sprenger stirrup irons are good and that lots of people who had trouble riding due to problems in their feet and ankles such as arthritis and rheumatism can now ride because these make it much easier

I use the sprengers and find them good for my legs, often feel like there's nothing on my foot at all!

I love the sprengers but I can't afford them, I need something under £25, Ive seen some very similar on Ebay for £20 but I dont know if they are any good? has anyone tried them?

the parts are not replaceable, does this mean they wont last long?

I have the Sprenger Bow Balance ones and I love them, however if you are on a budget IMO the only ones that compare in terms of safety and quality are the Thorowgood T6 ones.

I like the Icelandic round stirrups, you have a big platform for your foot, they are not sprung or anything, but I used to do endurance riding and I wish I'd have had them back then!

Polo stirrups, best ones I have ever used! I have several old injuries in my back and my hips and knees aren't exactly how they used to be.. ;) Polo stirrups are really good and we do spend an awful lot of time we spend standing on them, and you can barely feel them and I haven't had any pain in my legs!

Sorry the pic is so small, but the step is really wide. You should be able to get them for less than £25, but not sure if they would be the right ones for you?

A wide tread might help as it would probably distribute my weight better and my feet sometimes slip off normal irons.

Sprenger are ideal. I use them for that reason, as recommended by my RI who uses them too.
At one point a UK firm sold an imitation Sprenger for much less money. They were sold under the William Funnell brand name. I bought a pair at a show, in a larger size to go over my big winter boots.

Please note this is a random find via Google. I know nothing about this shop. I suggest you google again and make your choice. I realise £30 is above your limit, but you wont find this style of stirrup any cheaper and they might be worth saving up for?

I use the cheap version. They lasted me over a year. My stirups are used at least once a day some times several times a day. I find them very comfy.
