Just noticed that you can now get the barefoot arizona in a size zero...which is what we need. However, would still need to replace pommel with wide one and it has western rigging which I don't want :( However....saw on the H and H website that you can get a western to english converter, are they any good? Or how huge is the nevada, which comes with wide pommel and english rigging? Too big for us I expect. Why dont they do that in zero? :(

my flatmate uses a converter on her cashel softsaddle without any problems.

or you could go for the normal barefoot cheyenne which has normal rigging (albeit dressage girth straps!), because all the barefoot 'western' saddles are is eg a cheyenne with a fake horn stuck on it (ie you can hold onto the saddlehorn, its literally just there for looks) and a couple of extra bits of leather to make it look the part :)

I use the Barefoot Nevada on my 13.2hh Fell pony if that's any help!

That has English rigging and is superb for pones of the more rotund type. It probably looks slightly long on him if I'm honest, but it really doesn't bother him in any way, and I am sat well forward in the saddle so not putting pressure anywhere near his loins. I use a Heather Moffett Hipsaver with it, which saves my aging hips and keeps me in a good position. I feel very safe when riding in it. And it has already kept me on board when my little pone did a massive leap out of a muddy puddle. In a normal saddle I would have been on the floor; in the Barefoot Nevada I stayed put.

I don't have any photos with me because we only just got the saddle about a month ago, but I will take one for you sometime this week.

No idea what size rug he takes though - he's a hairy muddy little Fell and never has a rug! :D Lives out all year round, never been rugged in his life.

He certainly doesn't object to the saddle though, and goes forward very nicely in it. It's one of the new style Barefoots that have soft panels underneath. Believe me, he would be the first to complain if the saddle wasn't right for him and hurt him! We've tried a lot of treeless saddles over the last year or so, and he was very vocal about the ones he didn't like. He liked the Fhoenix and he liked the Barefoot Nevada. I liked the Fhoenix very much too but just feel safer in the western style Nevada!
