I just brought a big Tb Gelding 17.2hh 4yo of the track. Ahhhh I am so excited he has the best temp and manners. I will post a photo soon.

Any way I was wonder how to improve my seat. I find it hard to sit deep in the saddle as I have never really had this explained to me before as i have a western instructor but do dressage and eventing. I was wondering is there are exercises you can do to improve you seat and sitting trot. I can do sitting trot I just have a horse who is impossibly bouncy. I find it easier to sit deep when walking and cantering that trotting. Maybe it is because he is so bounce.

Any help would be appreciated:p

the only way to really master the sitting trot is practice practice PRACTICE! lol

whey you do the sitting trot lift up your belly and really sit on your bum and breath... sing if you have to but if you are holding your breath you are probably tensing up causing you to bounce so just try your best to relaxe into the saddle and breath. try and absobe the bounce with your hips and kind of roll them to do that (with teh movement of the horses trot). practice practice is the only way to really fix it though :) maybe at the begining of the ride you can drop your stirrups and relax at the walk than do a little sitting trot. sometimes it will relax the horse and back them off before rides :)
