Hi,
My horse has started bucking and finds it very awkward to break into canter as if something is bothering him. Who is the best person to ask to come and check him? My local vets specialise in small animals so don't do much work with horses. I recently had a new saddle fitted for him so I don't think it will be that. It was professionally fitted only a couple of months ago.
I am in Lincolnshire

i like mctimoney as it sorts the whole skeleton out but you might be better with something better targeted to muscles. i would also get your saddle fitter back out after your horse has had some therapy.
alot of people on here have a lot of faith in bowen. good luck :)

I have had McTimony and Bowen peeps out. Have you considered a tack check?? Poohsmate on here is Equine Bowen therapist and a saddle fitter. So you could be killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Would highly recommend him. :)

Would also recommend osteopath if you can find one in your area. I've used Bowen- good and McTimmony- also good but the osteo sorted out a long term problem the others couldn't.

Sports massage is very effective for sore backs. This website will direct you to your nearest practitioner www.equinemassageassociation.co.uk
Good Luck

If you're looking for a horse vet (which in the long run will be far more use to you than a small animal vet), you can look for a specialist practice on here: http://www.rcvs.org.uk/Templates/System/FAVSearch.asp?NodeID=89660&FAVSearchType=2#advanced
