After many years without a horse I am buying one and have to buy everything new from scratch.
All being well he will arrive 3rd week October so I want to try and arrange a saddle fitter to come out as soon as he arrives.
So what I need are lots of new rider recommendations for saddlers in the london area who will come out to fit a saddle.
I'm not looking for anything unusual, forward cut GP. I'm quite tall, he's 16.2 so we shouldn't have any problems suiting both of us. He is apparently not a difficult horse to fit so it's just a case of making sure we get the best fit possible to make him comfortable.
Any suggestions?

Hi there

Try Janette Moss. I bought both my saddles from her and have her around every 6 months to check the fit. She is very knowledgeable and very approachable. Not cheap though (but not too expensive either) - and sometimes it is difficult to get an appointment.

Let her know exactly what type of horse you have, what size you are and what kind of saddle you are looking for (e.g. leather or synthetic, GP or Dressage...), if you need any extras (girth, stirrups etc.) and how much you are willing to spend.

When I asked her about a dressage saddle I made it clear that I wouldn't have a lot to spend and she found a nice ex-display model for my boy.

Good Luck.
