Hi,
Prince is really itchy at the mo as his skin is so dry and flaky, no creepy crawlies causing it and he has been wormed recently.
I need something to put in his feed that will help and Im sure there will be something out there! Cod Liver oil worked but puts on weight, I cant have that at the minute as Im trying to get his weight down.
Does anybody know of anything?
Thanks!;)

It might be worth looking at what you're feeding him already rather than just adding something.
We found that Saff's skin and hair was dry and dull when she was on mixes and hasn't had a problem since we stopped them. She's now on a forage based diet which seems to be doing the trick.
Linseed is good if you did want to add something.

He's fed garlic and carrots at the moment :D He has half a cup of blue chip lami light if ridden.. so he's fed not a lot at the moment!

Garlic can irritate the skin too! It might be worth dropping that and seeing if it makes a difference.

I'm having good results with Black Oil Sunflower seeds, and Omega HorseShine - the flax based stuff. But I'm feeding both, mostly for coat - my one Pony has very dry fur which causes problems in winter. Black Oil Sunflower would be a good one to try - it does add calories, but no sugars though.

I give seaweed powder to mine if he's itchy. Works for him.
