Presumable leather?

Let it dry out properly (but not with heat, just naturally) then brush off all the mud and grit, taking care not to scratch the leather.

The give it a really really good clean with proper leather cleaner (not the conditioner stuff) then let it dry properly.

The give it a good rub with leather conditioner.

Looks like ordinary saddle soap. Should be fine.

I use a damp cloth to get rid of grease and mud (lots about at the moment!) and when its dry rub some good leather conditioner in, Effol is really good :)

I just cleaned all our tack this afternoon. :D
i use hot water with washing up liquid in and belvoir saddle soap.
for any really greasy parts i scrape it off with a flat knife- be careful only to do it on the 'rough' side of the leather and only if it is really dirty otherwise you will damage it.
if it needs it i use carrs leather oil aswell to keep it supple (girths stirrup leathers and reins mainly, where they get wet, sweaty or 'spitty' (my mare mouths a lot!)
