1st dresage test tomoz

well tomorrow ive got my 1st ever dressage test, ive allways wanted to do it. im riding a horse ive never even ridden before his owners bringig him tonight for me to ride :D

im well nervous lol im doing P4

few questions

ive been given my time but when i get there what do i do, do you have to sign in ??

am i ok wearing shirt and tie or does it have to be a stock

also

can i wear a body protector

shirt & tie are fine , as is your body protector

my advise would be as soon as you arrive , before unloading your horse , go off & check out the setup

most unaff venues have slightly different ways of running but my first point of call would be the warmup arena , find out if there is a steward , if so life should be alot easier , ask them the format , do they call you or do you have to be ready to go in yourself , are the slots running on time , do you need to declare as you enter the warm up ring etc , if you explain its yoyr first time most will be helpful

if no ring steward make your way to the 'office' & ask the format

two tips that nerves can have you fall foul of

1 make sure your brushing boots are off before entering the test ring

2 wait for the bell before starting
