How much would you pay for a x racer?

question in title really. myself and my fella are thinking of buying one to retrain to do sj and racehorse to riding horse classes. How much would you pay? and what would put you off?

Could you rehome a retired one that's in a charitable place? They have some really lovely horses go through their yards.

Would really depend how how much it had done, how old etc. I think something like an ex pointer wouldn't set you back too much. Some are only bought to race for a couple of grand.

I guess the work you need to put in and the more flighty it is the less you will pay.. I would always advise when buying a exracer to have a full vetting done. You can pick them up very cheaply from the likes of trainers/yards who no longer want one that is no use on the racetrack.. try and find some contacts in the business

Thats a good idea about offering one a home from a charity.. but that of course depends if you looking for a project to bring on and sell?
