My horse had a cut on the top of one of her forelegs which she kept rubbing. I think it was a kick from one of the unshod shetlands judging by the size, it just looked like a scratch. I just used to put germoline on it. However, now she has a lump there. About a centimetre in length and, to me, quite noticeable. The cut healed over a month ago, an idea what this lump could be? Will it go away?

Probably just scar tissue, it will shrink back slowly, although it may not go completely. Could try the homeopathic remedy Silicea, use the 6c strength, 3 pills twice a day for two weeks, as this will help reduce the scar tissue quicker.

If the splint bone was bruised it is possible this is a little splint forming. They do reduce in size but don't go away completely. They don't do any harm but are a bit unsightly and will put the horse down the line for showing.
