What do I do if my horse is a alergic to mosguistos. I need to know what to put I the fly spray. The people at the barn say to use skin so soft. I have been useing vinegar, and fly spray. Would skin so soft work?

SSS is highly recommended but it has to be the Original scent. If the horse has sweet itch, you may need to take more measures to keep the mossies away like a fly sheet.

Allison Rhi suffers Sweet Itch which is an allergic reaction to Midge bites (may be mosquitoes at your end). Last year she was badly bitten. I had to hog her mane and tail and she had terrible rub marks. This year with a little advice from another group I am on I invested in a bug rug (fly rug - you can buy sweet itch rugs but they are expensive) with neck piece ( altghough she now does not have this as she ripped it in the field a few weeks ago), Then after doing a little search I also did the following :

Oh by the way the bug rug goes on in March and can come off in November over here but not sure about over there.

Vaseline in her mane and tail as this stops the midges from nesting.

Itch Free herbs in her feed (Dobsell and Horell do it)

Fly spray all over

Garlic

Pleased to say that she has showed little signs of it bothering her this year.

Hope this helps

Yep give it a go. It may work for her or you may need to find antoher alternative but I would say buy her a fly rug also. I have foudn this really useful.
