Children and riding section?

Following from the Kids lesson idea thread, wondering if we should set up a section for children, albeit adults wanting to share kids riding lessons, or advise for clothing etc to children/teens asking about pony club/age restricted games.

Just a thought ;)

Oooh, I don't know about that...We're just really very prone to making mistakes that we need adult input into, (look back on all the teen drama this year alone) especially where horses are concerned, and I'd hate there to be an age divide between us NR lot. It's important for teenagers to be able to get on with adults, especially in the long run.

A kiddie section would be lovely though, lots of NRers have riding kids they need info about tiny ponies for sale, lessons for assorted tiny people, PC information etc etc:)

I have been on another horse site just recently. Its all set up very much like this one, but it has a "kids only" catagory too. It appears that they chat more about hair styles, boyfriends etc as opposed to problems with there horse - they can discuss that in another catagory. They is also a catagory for photos, and you have your own file and store them all, but everyone can view them and leave comments. They also have an "off topic" one for adults too. They also had a "chat" catagory were you can log in and talk direct to others.

Its really nice.

Not too sure myself. It would be an extremely useful board, but you'd have to be pretty strict on rule enforcement so that it wouldn't turn into a a kid's chat. I suppose I'm in agreement with Kathryn128.

As a teenager myself, I'd probably find myself feeling a little confined to said board.

Adult sections and sections for teens have been discussed in the past, and the general feeling is that it would segregate groups according to age, which is not what NR wants really. Off topic forums are not going to happen here; most members don't come here for chat and it's felt that NR is best being what it set out to be; a horse board.

I was swinging more towards the little kiddie idea as opposed to the teen one. Although I'm a teen myself, I prefer the more adult boards as the advise is direct etc.

I'm forwarding idea for little kids and horses but if people want a teen section it's up to them!
