Its my first competition since my accident.

No sorry its not jumping its dressage. And I will be riding a new-ish mount. I have had probably about 10 lessons on T, he's a SOLID, 15hh piebald cob. Very bendy and flexible and quite responsive. With a horrid saddle that keeps slipping to one side. He's reasonably forward going but I can certainly stop him and he needs very little warming up. He does an ACE free walk and halt, tracks up well and should really be quite good.

I don't expect great marks cause we haven't really gelled yet but I do really like him and am beginning to get the hang of him. It would be lovely to think he was starting to understand me, but he's an RS horse and he's just working, working, working, the sweetie.

I did try the first test out on my favourite, forward going P, but we crashed through the canter - trot - walk stages (unsurprisingly) every time. Dear P has two speeds, slow and uninterested (walk) and far too fast (trot and canter, yee-ha).

So, Sunday week, 2 tests. Prelim 4 and Prelim 18. Will be nervous I think, DD doing same ones - on the gorgeous but tiny SB.

just to finish it off, thanks for your good wishes.

I rode dear T2 and it was great fun but fairly mediocre. I was convinced I would come last but was 8th out of 14. Mainly due to lack of impulsion.

2nd test was a disaster, I couldnt get the canter established on a circle nor immediately therefter. So I scored a 3 and a 1 and did come last.

well we do this for the fun of it don't we.

DD - she rode the same two tests as a junior and won both of them. She got better results than all the adults for the first test so got overall first, and for the second test was second overall.

So home happy, thanks for looking.
Anne :)

Congrats - how awesome to be up to competition dressage. I have only just started the basics but it is so much fun and there is just such a lot of scope for improving. Each lesson I have, I learn just a little more!! I hope one day to be like you and go for competing, lol, but only at beginner level! Well done!

Hope you have fun - how do you manage to remember two tests on the one day?? Dont think I could!:)

These are quite beginner level tests. The hardest bit in the first test was two ten metre half circles through X to change the rein - in walk. The rest was wtc, straights and circles, free walk on a long rein etc. That rein change was quite hard.
The hardest bit of the second test was a serpentine - although a higher number, to me it was an easier test (but I fluffed it!).

Two tests in the one day proved a wee bit difficult for us all. At this level it is ok to have tests called. I knew my tests but still needed the 2nd one to be called as my mind went blank!

Lots of fun thought, and lots to improve on which is great. Onwards!

thanks all, lovely to hear from you Dee. Feels like full circle and I have exorcised a ghose - I was pratctising for a dressage test when I had my accident, so it can all be put behind me now.

Did feel SOOORE yesterday then - at least DD felt so too, so that wasn't too bad.

It was UNBELIEVABLY scary. I have done it before - well, only twice, but have never felt this scared. Tests go right out of your head, they get mixed up one with the other, and, if you're me, you forget how to ask for canter!

But it was great fun, and hope to do it again one day.

Well done Anne. Great to hera you're back and doing things again.:D

If its any consolation I have come last at two dressage tests, oh and pulled out and been eliminated from one each more. I've never come higher than half way up the order (the only other two I've done). Yes, we do do it for fun, and it is:D.

Yes, Faerie Rider now you've been exposed as a lurker... what's the news on you?:)

Thanks CR. Halfway down t he order suits. I was last in the second one - scored 1 for something that was supposed to be "canter between F and M".

What I actually got was "didn't show any canter..." well I suppose you can't get any marks for THAT!

But thanks for all your well wishes, and (said in wee wee small voice) I think there's a showjumping competition coming up soon................

And you FR Kat, c'mon how've you been gettin on?
