Please can I tell you that i think the 'fly away' repellent is really good.
It's the only one i have used and had some kind of result.
I only put a bit on and she hasn't had as many bites as she does normally, i really like this repellent.
Is there any body out there who uses it.
And what do you think of it?

I've never used that fly repellant.
My favourite is the Carr & Day & Martin wipes. It is a pack of 15 and costs around £3. I find that the flies don't come as much and the wipe is also great at taking away the grime from the horses coat. howevr with bright white wipes alot of ponies I know are afriad. mine isn't thankfully as i find that the wipes spread repellant all over the body. I used gel in the past and it clumped in little areas so the flies went else where on the body so I nearly had to use a pot each time I went out. Became a little to costly so I changed

I use Bronco fly repelent. It's ok it's probably not the best though since it only works for a certain amount of time and that isn't very long.

My favorite fly spray is called "Fly Max" - I think. :D
The guy who is having me show his QH uses it. It contains moisturizers and sunscreen too. He got it at a sale one time and he said if he ever sees it again he will pick some up for me. Right now I use a combination of Ultrashield, vinegar and skin so soft, and it works pretty good.

The first one on the list - "UltraShield® Brand Residual Inseticide & Repellent"
It works WONDERFULLY. It's a bit expensive, $30 CND, but it's a big bottle and it's magic, I swear. The flies hover in a circle five feet away from my horse in all directions, lol. And you barely have to apply any to get this result. Some fly sprays require a soaking, which just wastes your product and makes you buy it more often. You only need a light misting with Ultrashield. I've had my bottle of Ultrashield (the size with the spritzer) for three weeks and I doubt I'll have to pick up another bottle for another two weeks. It also smells great! :D One application usually lasts about three days.

I love Absorbine products ... I have their ShowSheen ( amazing stuff! I want to use it on my hair!), Superpoo Shampoo (smells delish, I also use it to wash my hands down there, and I know people who use it as their shampoo for *their* hair) ... Ultrashield fly spray ... they're amazing! :D

I totally agree with you.
The first part of the summer i had tried a few products including making my own but the flies just kept on coming so much so it put an end to riding in the fields. I then tried the fly away and couldn't believe my luck.
It is good stuff at a reasonable price.

I must say that I love Pyranha insecticide spray. Its only about ten bucks and works wonders.:) I also use the normal Pyranha spray and put it in one of those plastic spray bottles with the adjustable nozzles. The nozzles are adjustable so its easier and faster to spray more areas in less the time.24328

i usually make my own, but is variable in its effectiveness. Like the sound of the ultrashield - dont know if we can buy here in the uk (or for that matter purchase on-line and have shipped in?)

I always make my own. Its so much cheaper and I find mine is very effective. Mysy is allergic to come fly bites and theiy come out as big lumps under the skin. This stuff works a treat.
But, I do have some NAF cream with was 7.50 for her teats and around the face which works ok, but wears off quickley.
