I saw the previous Mentoring thread and wrote that I would love a Mentor, but then realised how old this was........ it was actually started in June time I think
I thought it would be nice to hear if anything actually came of the thread - did anyone become a Mentor? Did you find a Mentor and if so, what have you learned from it?

A success story on our part!
I was mentoring Vonandiz - we've since become good friends and Von's taken a share horse on my yard :D

Ditto Rarah. :D
Its a bit strange to think that if it wasn't for this thread starting then I'd never have got my share horse or been introduced to Rarahs way of hacking (far far more fun than a riding school).
Thanks mate :D
now I've publicly thanked you can I carry on asking silly "how do I?" questions ? :D:D

Surely we can't be the only success story?
Come on guys - tell us your tales! :p

The other mentoring thread is old but still going strong.
As for sucesss stories - i have made a friend and mentor - the lovely Est and still try to see her once a week to see ponios Merrick and Ria. I have learnt so much and am very grateful buts its also fun. I would love to have a share horse one day but finances don't permit at the moment so we shall see in the future. :D

And I have been mentoring Virago since the summer. She's been over to work with Sennie and me lots of times. In fact she's coming over in about half an hour. We both really enjoy it, and I have made a friend.:D

I have just started 'being mentored' by Libbyo and it's great. Only been twice, today and last Sunday and I have really enjoyed.
I am a total beginner and am obviously not much use, helpwise, but today I picked out feet and groomed one of Libbyo's horses. We also long reined another horse and i had a go!
I think it's a great idea.
Thanks Liz!:D

And dosnt Pinnochio look a picture this evening. Youve really done him proud. He looks stunning. Its something I often miss out on doing, when I busy. He was well happy tonight.
Lena enjoyed her walk out on the reins too.
Hope you also enjoyed the impromtu stunt show today, with escaping showjumpers, bolting cobs and falling off stunters!
*** a day.
The miini stables are all finished and I stink of crearsote!
Thanks for comming.

Yes, I'm having great fun and learning loads with Cazrider & Sennie. PLUS I got some bags of well-rotted poo from the muck heap yesterday for my veg patch! ;) It's a win-win situation! :)

I posted on the previous thread but would like to post on this one in case my mentoring angel sees this thread. Am considering buying my first horse (she's my RS horse and I adore her) but am totally new to looking after a horse and need to get some knowledge and experience.
If anyone in South Wales area would like to mentor a complete novice who would work hard and teach me how to look after horses, I will forever be in your debt and you will have my everlasting gratitude. Please help!

Anyone in Beds/Herts/Bucks?
I'm offering mentoring :) Okay so I'm only 21 but I have a lot of experience and my horse is very well looked after, I have charge of another 2 geldings too so there are a few to be pampered.
Ace would love someone to come and groom him and in return he could teach them to lunge and long line and if they can ride he might teach them some leg yeilds, shoulder-in's and lots of other nice dressage moves you can show off with! Also he does love a cuddle!

Is there anyone in the South Wales area that would be willing to mentor me? I'm looking to buy my first horse but am a novice at horse care. I want to learn about mucking out, putting tack on, cleaning tack, grooming, feeding etc but need someone kind enough to show me the ropes. Can anyone help?
