What a wonderful group this is! I have enjoyed lurking here the past few weeks and thought an introduction might be in order :)

I am 45 years old and work full time at a horse farm, truly a dream job! I have started to ride again after a very long time and have found it amazing. The trainers I work with are special women who have given me so much confidence, I feel very lucky :)

Would love to have a couple of horses of my own some day, but for now get so much pleasure just having the opportunity to be around them all day at work!

Nice to "meet" you all!

Hi Cat@3
Hows things:) What a lucky prerson working with horses.:):)
I'm lucky too as I work on a farm with our cattle apart from the occasional stint supply teaching. When the kids are giving me grief I just think that I could buy something new for my horses or a new calf or somthing for the house. Note order of things:D:D
I have 2 horses, two IDxTB, mother and daughter and a palomino pony
Do you have the chance to ride where you work? What type of horses are they?

Thanks for the welcome! Yes, I do get to ride where I work. Not as easy as one might think:) The farm I work at has about 50 horses, half of which are farm horses and the other half are client horses. We do lessons from children on up, beginners to advanced. The farm has a good amound of draft crosses, lovely big beasts who take very good care of a rider like myself up on top :)

There are many TB's and TB crosses as well. I get so much satisfaction from my work, just being around horses...well it's pretty cool!

What a warm welcome! Thanks to you all.

I've been riding fairly regularly for the last few months and in the beginning my body ached so much lol:D

I struggle with keeping my weight down and in my heels--- when I canter I often find my self rolling onto my toes and lifting up my hands!!!!! Like anything, it's a process and we are always learning :)

Hi Anne----I live in the U.S., in the chilly NorthEast. In fact, we have a light snow cover this AM as I get ready to go to work:)

Hi and welcome! You definitely do have a real dream job! At my job, all I can do horse-wise is look at pics of my girl (which are all over my office) and steal away onto NR! :D
