Hi all,
Thought i'd give you all a bit of an in sight into my first few lessons.
I had my first lesson a few weeks ago before this i only had two before.
On my first lesson i had a nice fluffy cob called Duggie, at first i was a bit nervose but as soon as i got on i started to get excited about finally starting riding lessons. We walked around for a bit and started to do circles after a while we did the trot on a lunge since i had done it before. then after a few goes of that we did the trot on our own which was really good, my RI said i had good rhyrham and postioning to say i have only riden a horse twice before! i only had half an hour lesson but at the end i felt really good about my self! However a few days later my legs were killing me!!!
On my second lesson i had a horse called Mystie, now Mystie needs to know whos boss if not she trys to do what she wants, i found her more challening. i had a different RI. we walked around a few times and tried to do circles again but mystie liked to stop dead half way round, i just couldnt seem to get her to listen. we did the trot and found her a lot easier to do it on, my rhyrham was really good with her. in this lesson i asked a lot more questions, and got a better understanding of what was happening and why.
I have another lesson booked for this week and i'm really looking forward to it!
i know that some yards to pony days and stable managment, but these seem to be aimed at childern. i want to learn how to tack up and how to groom, how would you go about learning this?
Also being new to all of this, when and what riding gear would you get first also how much would you advise to someone who has just started out?
Thanks
