Just an idea I have had - as it would be soooooo nice to meet some of you lovely folk who have been supportive.

What about a big meet up?

I know it may be something people have done before, but I havent been a member long enough to have been involved with it then.

My idea goes like this; The location could be any where within the Country but I am just using my area as an example - I dont mind driving to places.

We have a place called Cannock Chase - you may or may not have heard of it but you can view it here;

http://www.forestry.gov.uk/cannockforest

The area is soooooo vast, that we could have our own get together here.
1. Everyone bring some food, and drink so we could have our own buffet.
2. Pasteing tables, or any other kind of fold up tables and chairs put in the backs of cars to put our nibbles on.
3. You could even bring your dogs, as this is a great place for walking them.
4. If you are really really keen, you can even bring your horse with you, as it is also a fantasic place for riding.
5. Toilets are not a problem as they have some at the near by Information Centre, however, there are lots of trees, so all you would need to bring is your toilet paper.

What does everyone think? It would be wonderful, and we wouldnt have to limit the amount of people either.

JOJOBA did try earlier this year, and it kinda went really well at the start, loads of interest, and as things got closer, more people started dropping out.

It'll be a hard task for the organiser, but could be a corker if it works ;) :)

Great idea, but living in the deepest Essex, everywhere is a long way away!!

Next year I plan to ride on the beach at Silecroft in Cumbria - Murthwaite EC.

How about organising a group day or half day there and going for an NR canter on the beach?? They do one that has a picnic break.

Thats great for the not soooo nervous nellies (me one of those) :o

Thought it may be a nice time to meet, chat, bring children, dogs, horses if you like and lots of food.

I think it depends how passionate eveyone is about getting together to whether they are prepared to drive miles. I think if it is a one off, and start out early travelling shouldnt be a problem really.

Wish I could canter on a beach though - its my dream!!

Some of us had a small get-together a couple of years ago and went to Cannock Chase Trekking Centre and then to the pub! It was great :)

Mine too ( but I really want to GALLOP!)

Well they cater for all, from walking for nervous nellies to galloping through the surf!

And I can't think of a safer place to canter!

The Cannock Chase Trekking Centre looks good too - I would be game to come up for a 2 hr hack and a picnic!

I think you need to strike while the iron is hot and not try to book things too far in advance.

For instance, if we wanted to do something at the Cannock Chase Trekking Centre, they have availability on Saturday 8th December on the 1.30 to 3.30 ride for mixed ability - half the ride can canter on the return if they want.

Cost is £32 per person - group bookings require a deposit in advance, so individual booking is better - there is no group discount!

Not sure whether I can afford that...:o I would be able to normally, but what with xmas coming along and childrens xmas presents to buy plus I have a £320.00 annual Transport fee for my sons school to pay too!

Perhaps people who can afford it, go to the Trekking centre, then come on the chase for a get together and food after?? Its only up the road! :)

I'm up for going to that sort of area! I agree it's probably best not to book too far in advance! I used to go to Cannock Chase when I was younger and lived in Birmingham. :)

2 National NR meets have been arranged in the past and fell flat on their back sides....:(

A NR meet at Murthwaite Green has also been arranged in the past and fell flat onits back side too....:(

Local Nr meets also tend to start off really well with loads of people wanting to go and hey presto only the usuals actually turn up.

Good luck in the organisation of this KAB. Sounds brill. Just wish I was closer. :o
