why does she want to buy one if she doesn't know anything about them?

They are a fairly newish "breed" of horse" originate from russia from the tersk stud where the name came from. They are have a lot of arabian blood in them although are more robust than the arab. They stand around 15hh-15.2hh. Can be used for general riding purposes and are used quite a lot in circus work because of their ability to learn fast.

They are very rare in this country. They were developed at the Tersk and Stavropol Studs in Russia using Arabians, Kabardins and Dons and were recognised as a breed in about 1948.

They are a small hardy breed standing around 15-16.hh and have been used for racing and endurance. They are lovely intelligent horses with an Arabian like appearance but with more substance.

If you are interested in buying one contact the British Tersk Society on 01463 751251.
