We just had the final trials in the states this weekend so I was wondering who made the team in your country? Also what is your qualifying process like?
U.S. Team
Molly Ashe and Kroon Gravin
Peter Wylde and Fein Cera
Leslie Howard and Priobert de Kalverie
Nikki Simpson and El Campeon's Cirka Z
alt. Laura Kraut and Anthem
Our trials started July 20 in Del Mar. There was one round that day and the next day there were two more rounds. Then the trials moved to The Oaks in San Juan Capistrano for the next weekend. Friday had one round, a rest day on Saturday and two more rounds on Sunday.
I'm happy with the team that we are sending, although I haven't seen much consistency from Molly and Kroon Gravin. I was hoping that McLain Ward would be choosen for the fourth spot instead of Nikki though. He has been having an amazing year, winning everywhere, but Viktor had a stone bruise, and they couldn't compete the last day.

I just heard that Beezie Madden and Judgement were going to be the alternate. They placed 5th, but there was talk of them bypassing the games to go to Spruce Meadows instead, but I guess not.
I find it hard to believe that nobody knows who made the team for their country. did they just not hold the trials yet. I know Canada did, because Eric Lamaze ( ) made the team, but I'm not sure about who else.

I couldn't find the showjumping team, but thanks myEllie! Karen Cudmore's a great jumper. Here's our eventing squad:
James Atkinson- Revisionist
Robert Holman- A Criminal Mind
Bruce Mandeville- Larissa
Penny Rowland- Aberdare
Wyndham St. John- Oliver
It's weird because they decided they don't want a alternate. Four will make the team, and the one will compete individually. James Wofford hasn't decided who yet.
Canada's not really all "there" with eventing, but more and more you begin to see them at Rolex, etc. so good luck to them! ;) I can't even find the dressage team (unless they haven't held their trials yet).
I can't believe Beezie's not staying at Spruce Meadows for the Masters! :( Plus, I don't like Eric Lamaze anymore ever since his "episode"! Replace him with someone better like Ian Millar! :D

I agree. My friend and I were watching a grandprix from earlier in the year. Eric was in the jumpoff with Rosina (nice mare) and we all started singing "I love the cocaine, I love the cocaine." I don't know what song it is in, but it seems to fit him. My mom looked at us like we are completely nuts. She had no idea about the "episode." I would really like to see Ian Miller and his horse Nikos (sp?). I only saw him when he got second in the Hits Ocala Grand Prix, but that horse is gorgeous.

I can't remember what Nicos (sp?) looks like. Personally, I like Ray Texel's one mare...her name's either Tulip or Fleur...??? I think it's Fleur. Anyways, she's so moody and fiesty! :p She always has her ears pinned but as soon as she approaches a jump she pricks them right up! Fiesty mare! :D

It's Fleur. Tulip is ridden by someone else. And its funny that I don't remember since I just saw him in the Grand Prix at Spruce Meadows. I think it might be Rich Fellers. I also like Fleur and his other horses especially Lexicon, but they aren't Ray's horses anymore. He has been fired since he didn't qualify for WEG. :( Those owners must be complete @sses. I doubt they will find anyone else that accomplishes as much with the horses

Sadly the New Zealand Team hasn't been announced yet
Surely Blyth Tait and Ready Teddy will be selected, they are in top form and will be there to defend the title they currently hold.....hehehe
And the New Zealand team is also defending the world champs title hehehe
My hope is that we will have
Blyth Tait=Ready Teddy and Welton Envoy
Andrew Nicholson=Mr Smiffy and New York
Kate Lambie=Nufarm Alibi
Heelan Tompkins=Glengarrick
Matthew Grayling=Revo
As for dressage our announced hope is our fabulous Kalista Field who just missed the Kur at Sydney, competing at the world games on Maxx Jamahl.
As for the show jumping, I am not too sure yet, I would love for John Cottle to qualify as he is my favourite NZ show jumper.
Whatever happens, the kiwis are the ones to look out for in the eventing!!

Not sure of the German teams but likely one's for the dressage are Nadine Capellman, Ulla Salzberger and Karin Rehbein. Not sure who the other is likely to be but they have all been doing well on the International circuit this year.

Aww, what losers! :( That really sucks! Hopefully he finds a new set of horses to compete on!
Gracie- Beth Underhill rides Altair, right? I think she still might be bringing him back from his injury, because last year they were back at SM, I think, but he didn't do to well, if I remember correctly. Maybe she's competing on another circuit? An American one maybe?

Me too. I like Kroon Gravin, but she hasn't been very consistent lately, so its best for the team as well.

been watching what I can of WEG, but its all been focused on the Swedish participants. e.g. they tell you Helena was fourth in the SJ but forget to mention anyone else !
So I saw the UK eventing results (the Swedes were something like 8th). But what happened with UK dressage and SJ ? All I know is they did not seem to make the top cut... what happened ?
