I registered sometime last year and although I've put a re-introduction of sorts into the Cafe area, I thought I would say Hello to everyone in here too, as I think I belong in here!
I wanted to get back into riding last year (well actually for many years before that too) but it was difficult finding the time and the money, as well as a suitable place (I live in London) Life also got a bit hectic last year but now things have settled down I have taken the plunge again, after doing two beach rides on a recent holiday...even though I managed to fall off and bruised my face/chipped a tooth! :o I last rode as a teenager and had a few lessons/hacks in between, but now I have a great opportunity to ride again.:D
I get to ride once a week and it is an informal lesson of sorts with one other person which is great. My 'instructor' is also really great and we get on well - something that I have learnt is really important! I have had enough of being patronised because I was an adult riding in kids beginner groups at riding schools. Next week will be my fourth, and I am looking forward to it already! I feel as though I am learning different things as well, in my second session I was taught leg yield, rein back and turn on the forehand which was fantastic; in my potted history of riding I had never been taught anything like that, the focus was always on getting canter/jumps asap!
I'm also rather enjoying these smiles
