I have an older appaloosa gelding that needs a new, loving home where he has a meaningful job.
Does anyone know any places in Florida, northwest, that are open to new horses? He's 15.3 or so, long, and veryvery pretty. He's amazingly sweet and gentle. He would just lovelovelove to be a therepy horse.
So, help, someone?

Try putting an add in local papers. Say something like: Free to a good home.

There are a lot of people out there willing to take on free horses. Just make sure you vet them properly.

Good luck. Fingers crossed you find a lovely home for him. I'd have him if you lived over here!! :)

May I ask why you want to give him away? Why don't you sell him? Are you thinking of semi - retiring him or something? (just wondering because you say he is elderly)

I would get in touch with your local riding for the disabled centre, though I don't know if you run the same system in the US as it is here in the UK. I know our centre would only be interested if he were up to passing a vetting as they have to be capable of working for their keep, though they tend not to do the hours that riding school horses do.
